Updated Beach Hours

The hours of operation for Second and Third beaches are changing. Starting today, Monday, Aug. 15, lifeguards and other staff will be working daily from 9 am-5 pm through the end of the beach season.

Newport firefighters were out this morning along West Main Road, checking their fire hose adapters. Officials said Newport Fire uses a fire hose thread different than other departments, so an adapter is needed to tie into the hydrant system in Middletown.
